About Our Teacher/ Artist: Hi! I’m Karen and I’ve been weaving for the past 4 years. I picked it up again during the pandemic and my pregnancy with my youngest child. After many years away from my first art form, dance, I was ready for a new medium that wasn’t so hard on my body. That’s when I pulled out my loom that was gifted to me when I was 10 by my great aunt who had taught me all those years ago how to weave. I haven’t put it down since! This serves as a meditation for me, creating works drawing from texture, color, the early Impressionists and nature. When I’m not stealing moments to weave from my busy life as a mother of 3 I enjoy reading, baking and playing outside with my family.
